(Please note mare is pasture sound only so does not show her full movement ability)

Waterspot left our program in 2007 to what was hopefully a lifetime home back east. Due to unforseen curcumstances she has sold and now being sold again. As I keep being asked about the circumstances on this mare I hope the following information will help prospective buyers and find this lovely mare the lifetime home that she deserves.

We purchased Spot as a 2yo from Terry Brown's (Showcase Ltd) breeding program. Terry was very upfront with us that the mare had sold and then foundered so they got her back. They were unsure of the cause of the founder...we guess it was overfeeding since she's easy to feed. Terry supplied us with xrays showing slight rotation in both front feet with the right slightly worse than the left. Since it was clearly not a hereditary issue we brought her here, healed up her feet and she was always pasture sound with the exception of one stone bruise for about two weeks a few years ago. We only had her in shoes the first year while her founder grew out and kept her barefoot after that. We never treated her any differently than any other horses and never had any signs that the founder was trying to reoccur. My vet recommended that Spot not be ridden due to the rotation and since we planned on her being a career broodmare this was never a problem for us in the slightest...she loves her job having foals!

We have talked to both of Spots owners since us prior to them purchasing the mare and made them aware of her condition and how we kept her. Anita Kreiner, the gal that we sold Spot to originally can be reached at apkjacks@comcast.net and will be happy to answer any questions regarding how Spot was during the time that they owned her and can talk about Spot's 2007 Gold premium colt Pinnero CF. As Anita's husband is a farrier I believe they also might have done updated xrays on the mare's feet so he could shoe/trim her as best for the slight rotation.

Spots foals are quite nice, they are gold and silver premiums with RPSI. She is in the MB due to a Paint horse back in her pedigree but her foals get full pink papers. I have clarified with the RPSI office that due to her MB status she cannot produce an approved breeding stallion. This mare is easy to be around, gets along well with others, gets in foal easily and has lovely kids that she takes great care of.

Waterspot has a breeding to Palladio that her owner bought in 2007 and it is still good to be used on this mare. She never tried to cover the mare in 2007 as her circumstances changed and the mare needed to be sold immediately. This mare has regularly caught for us on the first or second cover so we don't expect trouble getting her in foal. We offered this mare when we sold her with a lifetime reduced fee breeding to Palladio and this offer of $900 stud fees for her will still stand for anyone that owns her. It is a great cross and we truly hope to see it repeated.

Waterspot's foal scores are listed at the bottom of this page.

We hope that this mare finds the special lifetime home that she deserves and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Spot's time here with us and our experiences owning her.

Waterspot combines some of the most notable Thoroughbred horses in the sporting world through her sire Waterway Drive. One of the last sons of POKER (Round Table/Glamour by Nasrullah) standing at stud, WATERWAY DRIVE was a multiple graded stakes winner on the racetrack during 1981 winning the Round Table Handicap (GII), the Volante Handicap (GIII), and finishing third by a nose in the Hollywood Derby (GI).
Retired sound and standing at Showcase Ltd since 1988, WATERWAY DRIVE sired just over thirty foals. Highlights from some of his best offspring include Icee Waters (Waterway Drive/Harvard Yard by Harvard Man) Grand Champion of the 1996 International Hunter Futurity Finals; Sporting Way (Waterway Drive/Broadway Play by Le Fabuleux) 1994 Reserve Grand Champion International Hunter Futurity Midwest Regional and now a successful dressage horse showing FEI potential; Watertite Alibi (Waterway Drive/Crystal Splendour by Wajima) a two time winner of the prestigious Young Hunter Undersaddle at Devon, winner of the 1995 TB Yearling Colts class at Upperville and the 1997 Reserve Grand Champion International Hunter Futurity Midwest Regional; and Musical Way (Waterway Drive/Lovely Marie by Concert Pianist) winner of the 1997 TB Yearling Filly class at Devon.
Best known as a hunter sire,Waterway Drive was mostly used as a sporthorse stallion and is known for consistently producing a great mind, superior athletic ability, correct conformation, and excellent movement. His bloodlines include Round Table, Pricequillo, Nasrullah, Nearco, Royal Charger, War Admiral, Man O'War, Alibhi and others.
Waterspot's dam was sired by the pinto warmblood stallion Hall of Fame from the Art Deco/Samber line. Hall of Fame is a proven producer of hunters and dressage horses alike.

Waterspot's first foal was the 2002 filly Pfirewater CF. This striking blue-eyed girl won the heart of everyone she met. We are looking forward to seeing her in the show ring. This filly scored Silver premium with RPSI scoring 7.0 for type, 7.8 for movement and an overall score of 7.4.

For 2003 Waterspot produced the lovely homozygous colt Puddle Jumper CF. This colt scored Silver premium with RPSI scoring 7.0 for type, 7.4 for movement and an overall score of 7.2.

In 2004 Waterspot did not foal.

In 2005 Waterspot again gave us an incredible pinto filly. Pastel CF scored incredibly well with RPSI with an 8.2 for movement and an overall score of 8.1.

Pastel CF

For 2006 Waterspot outdid herself with the arrival of Paisley CF. This spectacularly marked homozygous filly is stunning in every way. She scored an 8.4 for her movement and and overall score of 8.2. This incredible filly will join our breeding program when old enough.

Waterspot is in foal to Palladio for 2007.

We decided in 2007 to sell Waterspot in foal and keep her darling filly Paisley CF for our breeding program.
